Golf and Haute Cuisine at the Punta Mita Gourmet and Golf Classic

Two leading hotels — the St. Regis and the Four Seasons — will host a four-day culinary and golf getaway beginning on April 11 in Punta Mita, Mexico, located on the tip of Banderas Bay. The Punta Mita Gourmet and Golf Classic (from $1,515 per person) will include meals, cooking classes, and wine and tequila tastings led by a team of chefs from around the world, all centered on the two-day Punta Mita Cup golf tournament.

Open to 160 participants, the golf tournament will be held on both of Punta Mita’s Jack Nicklaus Signature championship courses—Pacifico and Bahia. Guests will participate in a series of competitions, including longest drive and hole in one, alongside the professional golfer Lorena Ochoa, who will be offering a clinic and tips. The winners of each competition within the tournament will receive prizes that range from magnums of Veuve Clicquot (worth $150 each) and bottles of Don Julio Real ($180 each) to a set of custom golf clubs (more than $1,500) and two nights at each of the host resorts, including green fees at each ($1,800).

Off the course, the Michelin star French chef Michel del Burgo, formerly of L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Hong Kong,will prepare a four-course meal featuring plump king-crab ravioli served with sweet-and-sour turnip and kaffir-lime aioli, and a roasted rack of lamb rubbed with Espelette pepper, served with bulgur, dry fruit, and apricot juice. Wines from Gérard Bertrand will be paired with each course. Another culinary highlight will be lunch at the St. Regis hosted by one Mexico’s top chefs, Enrique Olvera, paired with wines from the Mexican wineries Casa Madero and Monte Xanic.
